The main objective of the project “Synthetic FMCW-Lidar” is the development of simulation models for FMCW-Lidar sensors as well as the corresponding validation methods. These models will be used to virtually validate future automated driving functions using FMCW lidar sensors. These advances are essential to ensure the safety and reliability of autonomous vehicles.
Another important aspect of the project is the advancement of industry standards. Here, the participants are focusing on the Open Simulation Interface and Open Material of ASAM e.V.. These standards will be further developed based on the knowledge gained in order to meet the ever-changing requirements of the automotive industry.
At the end of “Synthetic FMCW-Lidar”, it is planned to provide the community with an exemplary signal processing model of a FMCW lidar on the ENVITED OpenMSL github of asc(s e.V.. This will be a valuable resource for researchers and developers working on FMCW lidar technology in the context of automated functions.
The project is carried out in cooperation with Persival GmbH, which acts as project coordinator. In addition, the asc(s e.V. is involved in the project as an associated partner.
