Currently, there is a huge focus on automated driving for road users, whereas for railway applications driver assistance systems have only been around for a few years. The railway domain brings both chances, as well as challenges in comparison to the road domain. Not all assumptions made for algorithms for road use can be applied to railway application.

Tasks:

  • Implementation of an automatic emergency braking (AEB) system for InnoTram
  • Performance testing of the implemented AEB on recorded data
