Ontology-Based Modeling of ADS and Identification of ADS-Variants based on Use Cases

Masterthesis, Advanced Design Project (ADP)

At the Institute of Automotive Engineering (FZD) at TU Darmstadt, we are developing fundamental modeling strategies for automated driving systems (ADS) within the framework of the DFG research project MiRoVA. To identify future development paths, we are focusing on ontology-based modeling and offer various opportunities for theses and ADPs in this field. Possible areas of work can include:

  • ️Literature review on ontologies, OWL, logic-based knowledge generation and system properties and boundaries of ADS
  • ️Systematic Collection of Use Cases for ADS
  • Creation of a general Ontology for ADS
  • Transfer into a machine-readable environment (e.g., OWL, Protégé)
  • Ontology-based Generation of ADS Variants (e.g., using Python or Java)
