Completion of the PRORETA 5 Project

The project with Continental, the Technical University of Darmstadt, the University of Bremen and the Technical University of Iaşi in Romania focused on situation understanding and movement planning of automated vehicles in urban traffic using Artificial Intelligence. During the event, all involved PhD students presented the theoretical results of their research. Afterwards, the implementation of the driving function was demonstrated live in the prototype vehicle.

At FZD, on the one hand, a logic-based module was developed to safeguard the AI-based modules, requesting the execution of an emergency trajectory to minimize risk in case of detected unsafeties in the automated system. On the other hand, FZD performed the integration and testing of the entire automated system, developing a method for specifying and testing traffic rule compliance.
