Description	This lecture provides an overview of the safety approval methods and processes in the automotive industry. Many presented examples and exercises done by the students during the lecture help to understand these methods and point out the challenges of the safety approval in the development process. The following questions will be answered: What is a Hazard and Risk analysis and how is it created? How is a system described on the requirements side and how are the requirements assigned to the ASIL assessments? How are signal paths analyzed and subsequent failure reactions and their influence on a system design determined?
