The exchange program

Students from TU Darmstadt have the opportunity to study at the University of Buffalo’s Department Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering during the fall semester

The semester lasts from late August to mid-December. Detailed information can be found in the Academic Calendar.

The study abroad begins in August 2014 and will end after one semester in December.

In general, the courses are accepted for studies in Germany. Nevertheless, it is recommended to hold prior consultations with the professors concerned. In this way, an extension of the duration of studies can be avoided.

The tuition fees amounting to $ 7,000 per semester shall be completely waived for the purpose of the exchange. However, a fee of USD 700 per semester will be charged. This amount is reduced to 400 USD in case a private health insurance is taken out.

We will support a grant from the DAAD for students with good grades and has already been applied for successfully for exchange students.

Who can apply?

All students who will be enrolled in mechanical engineering at TU Darmstadt at the time of the foreign stay at the University at Buffalo can apply. The students, however, must have completed their bachelor’s course by this point in time.

It is recommended, that an application be submitted during the fifth or seventh semester so that the stay abroad can be arranged for in the seventh or ninth semester.
