With Daimler Truck AG, one of the world's largest commercial vehicle manufacturers, FZD has gained a strong partner to push assistance systems and automated driving functions forward. Today, a Mercedes Actros was handed over to TU Darmstadt, which is equipped with the latest sensor technology for environment detection, including: ToF Lidar, FMCW Lidar, Longe Range Radar, 2x Short Range Radar, 2x IMU, camera systems. The “research truck” will help to gain a data basis that will accelerate the development of new assistance systems and automated driving functions.
