In order to methodically develop measures for the reduction of particle emission, the emission behavior of disk brakes, which is not fully understood yet, is researched.

At FZD, new concepts and possibilities for function separation and integration of future braking systems have been researched. The focus lied on electrically driven, slowly driving, heavy vehicles that autonomously drive in an urban environment.

The goal of SET Level is to advance the simulation-based development and testing of automated driving for urban areas in order to lay the ground work for the verification and validation as well as the later release and approval of these vehicle systems.

The goal of the interdisciplinary and interuniversity research project PRORETA 5 is the investigation of artificial intelligence methods with focus on situation understanding and motion planning for enabling automated driving in urban traffic.
